5spd to 6spd Conversion
I searched and only found one post on this that said converting a 5 spd OZ to a 6 spd would be pointless unless you were turbo. Well...I'm going to be installing a RIPP SDS in the near future and thought I would benefit from the extra gear. Plus, I really dig the 6 spd trannys (I used to drive an S2000). Anyone done this or have any useful thoughts on what it would take, where to pull a 6 spd tranny from and $$$?

it would have to be a custom built tranny.....because correct me if im wrong, but they dont make a 6 speed for our car, and no other car has the same parts (like a 93 ford explorer and 93 mazda javajo or something)

You are correct. Mitsu never made a 6 spd tranny for the 4g9x block, not even for the Lancer GSR w/ a true 4g93T, not Evo GSR.
Unless you have tons of money like H&A or Supra or Evo guys, no one should be ever thinking about it.

Because I had a second kid and had to get a larger vehicle. The Lancer was actually my wife's car previously - I traded my S2000 in for a Toyota Highlander for her and took her car. I miss my s2k but I love the Lancer!
