axle removal?

Question axle removal?

well tongiht i was removing my front left axle due to a bad cv joint.. well i had it all apart and went to take the axle out and it seperated at the inner boot while i was pulling it out. now im stuck w/ the inner end of the axle still in the tranny and it wont come out. any ideas on how to remove this would b very appreciated. thanks in advance.

a fork of some kind...

either that or pull out the other axle and push through that side...

pry bar lol... that's what i had to use when it got stuck.

Huge screwdriver, pry bar, crow bar, etc.

how did you know the cv joint was bad?

That could also be do to your suspension not being tightened.

i was under there a couple of times b4 deciding to rip out the axle to tighten everything up, but it was still making the noise, so hopefuly the new axle will do the trick.. i should have it tomorrow when the salvage yard makes there deliverys to my side of the state.

well i got it about 2ft in the air, took a pry bar and a hammer n it wouldnt come out, so i got frustrated, called it a dirty *****, and gave it another good hit, n it came out! problem solved, thanks again guys

I was thought my CV was gone, only later to find out it was a strut mount/strut bearing. I never got around to taking it out though, sorry i couldnt help you.

Sorry for the OT, its boring at work today.

How tough was ripping out and installing the new axle? I'm going to do this too. lousy god damn axles and motor mounts
