^^ they sure do. don't you own an EVO? maybe you can take better pic's to show him where exactly you pried, etc. i know i put arrows in the pic's he took but first hand photo's might help out a little more.

No evo here, just an OZ that's ALL mine! those pics show exactly where to pry...in between the transmission, and axle.

I'll continue tomorrow...getting late and cold now. This is gonna be a serious pain in the ***....

Finally done! That was a serious pain in the a$$ without a lift, and tranny jack! Turned out to be a popped spring on the disc, everything else seemed fine, but I replaced everything anyway.

...yeah 2 springs, fingers on the pressure plate, throw out bearing, and a cracked starter housing in one shot...i wish it was only one spring.

One thing I'm having trouble with is bleeding the clutch....I'm doing it the same way as brakes (3 slow pumps and hold) and I still have no pedal. WTF is the deal? I had help, and we did it like 20 times...still no clutch.

i had the same problem when i changed my clutchline. your brake/cluthc fluid resevoir should appear to be full....its not. the clutch resevoir is in the back of that compartment. slowly add more fluid and let it settle in. then bleed the clutch. you should get pedal within 2-5 pushes after that.

Well...it's not working, looks like I have to pressure bleed it. Has pedal pumping worked for everyone else?

yes it has. multiple times. just make sure there is enough fluid in there. also, DO NOT OPEN THE BLEEDER VALVE TOO FAR!!! you will never succeed in bleeding it if you open it too far. you will constantly be letting more air into the line.

Pressure bleeder did the job...had to go get the $30 one from autozone, and it works great. Guess I can bleed the brakes now too.

spindle= hub basically. if you look at the older rwd vehicles that had spindles, it looks like a tapered rod that the rotor and wheel bearings ride on.


also do dredge up a 4 year old thread, ive had my trans out twice for a clutch. first was a ebay clutch.

lift is a must!!first time i had the lift supporting the motor and sued jacks for the tranny. second go round because of where i was, the lift was for the tranny, and jack on teh motor with wood. also, the lift safed me a lot of back pain this go round!!!

Here comes a long dead thread necromancy again so for our ES and OZs we don't have to pry the clutch release bearing off the pressure plate to release the transaxle from the engine? I looked underneath the tranny and there are no service access holes like the Evo's and Ralliarts. So just pry the entire transaxle housing out once bolts are undone?
