EVO shifter in US lancer

sequential shifter in US Lacner
Hi all, I have a quick question if you don't mind.
Will an aftermarket shifter that was designed for
a Japanese or European spec EVO VII work in a
US spec 2002 Lancer. I would asume that the
linkage from the transmission to the shifter would
be the same. I'm just not to sure about the dfferences
in the all wheel drive tranny. The reason I'm asking is
there's a company in Japan called Ikeya, they make a
sequential shifter for the EVO VII that changes it from a
H-patern, to the up-down motion. Any info would be
great. Thanks

Hey, I found the web site. I hope so much the shifter will work on the
US Lancer.

You still have to use the clutch, but to have a sequential
shifter would be unreal.

If this works what the hell are you going to do with the componentry that controls the rear half of the drive system? I'm VERY skeptical of this whole idea. The shifting column itself may be the same but I'm prone to think that everything else from there on would be significantly different.

PjaI84,
This is what I'm trying to figure out. If I'm reading the
website correctly, installing this sequential shifter from
Ikeya would be no different than installing a B&M short
shifter. It still uses a shift fork that moves the cables
which controls which gear the tranny is in. Just in a
up and down motion, enstead of the traditional H patern.
Thanks

agreed, how would the gear linkage have anything to do with fwd/rwd/awd ? might be retarded and I may get a link thrown at me for ignorance, but I would think at the point of gear selection it should all be synonyms.

I found another website that shows the shifter in a EVO VII RHD.
Looks like it will work.

We have sequential shifter in an old Colt. It is wild. Trying it out in there for now. It has big LED gear indicator and everything! FUN stuff! Answeering your question, it would fit the U.S. Lancer. We can get them.
