09 GTS with CVT reverse uphill
So, my wife has a 09 GTS with CVT. For the last 3 days the wifes car has been parked facing down our driveway (30 degree incline) and has not been started(we just got a snow storm).
Anyway, so I go out there to back her car up to the top of our driveway. I put it in reverse, foot on the brake so it doesnt roll forward. Release brake and give it gas. It goes up the hill about 10 feet and then just slowly stops... almost like I am not giving it enough gas. Brought it up to ~2500RPMs and nothing. So I put it in drive and went down the drive about 10ft, put it in reverse, gave it gas ~2000RPM and nothing, wouldnt move.
Any ideas? Could the fluid have drained into the pan from sitting on an incline for a few days and it needed to be pumped around? I know the CVT tranny is very weak, it you are trying to go up hill you need to give it quite a bit of gas to keep it from rolling back and get it to move forward. Do you just need to bring this car to 3-4000RPM to get it to reverse up a 30 degree incline?
FWIW, I pulled it down the driveway in D, went out to the street about 100ft and did a 3pt turn and reverse worked fine. Also this transmission has never done anything out of the ordinary ever. Thanks!

So, did you answer your own question? I'm kind of confused here
I would assume the driveway is too steep to reverse all the way up it. Do you have any pictures of the said driveway?

I know this is a heck of a bump, but has anyone else experienced this?
The same thing happened to me, and the car was at operating temperature after driving for some time.
On maybe about a 35 degree incline I had to reverse, and the car struggled to do so, even after giving it maybe 80-85% throttle. However, on level roads the reverse works fine.
The transmission works normally otherwise and has not given any other problems. The transmission fluid is also change at the specified time witht the OEM fluid.
Hoping its not that uncommon an issue...
