BLEW UP MY TRANS, please help.

Hey everyone. I literally blew up my auto trans. like it exploded. i got the old one out but it was very tough. Im trying to install a new one and i cant get it to fit correctly, it wont seem to want to go on all the way. Does the tourqe converter have to be installed into the trans, then install the trans to the motor? or do i need to have the trq converter installed onto the motor and then install the trans that way? The motor is still in the car. Any ideas? Thanks

install the torque converter on the transmission, then mate it to the engine

You need to install the torque converter in the transmission by turning it and pushing in. It should drop further in 2 or 3 times before it is fully seated in the transmission.

Dumb question but this is an auto right? So is the torque converter bolted to the engine flywheel at all? I only ask cause I am doing currently trying to pull out the engine and I think I see bolt on the flywheel holding something and I think its the torque converter
