Broken Oz Rally trans and clutch!!!
Well mitsu is covering my trans and i have to pay full price for the clutch and flywheel, and the clutch was replaced 5000 miles ago and the flywheel was turned 5000 miles ago and all work was done by the dealership and its going to cost me around $700 for the parts and labor plus they have to take my intake off so they jacked me for another 170 dollars to take it off and put it back on!!!!! WTF!!!! My car has been in the shop for almost a week now and now the trans wont be in stock for a couple days... so I am out of a car...
all of this bull**** because they said i "abused" it too much.... when other people are having the same problems... and they wont provide a loaner car because they said i would "abuse" the loaner car....

Some thing happened with some kind of bearing that just ripped everything up.... and now al the trans and trans related stuff is screwed and i pretty much know that the dealer f'd up things when they put the old clutch in.. BUT they just push the blame on the 19 year old...

Fix the tranny somewhere else and go to rrm and buy their Flywheel and stage 2 clutch kits. It's beefier than the wimpy stock clutch and the flywheel is lighter too! wtf 170 to take off and put the intake back on? A baby can do that...

You know all I hear is OZ and bad tranny's and clutches. Does anyone have a freaken OZ with a good Clutch? All this talk scares me and is gunna make me buy a RRM clutch. I have an OZ with 20,000 and still rolling semi-strong on a stock clutch. Is it just the 02's because I haven't heard of any bad 03's (I have an 03). Could it be lack of lubrication. I changed my tranny fluid at 15,000 and it wasn't good at all...nasty green and silver lookin. I leaned how to drive stick on this stock clutch so I am rather conserned on the condition of the clutch. Think I might just buy the RRM Stage 1 to be safe.

I had a bad clutch on my 03 it was so weak that even if I steped off the clutch completely in second gear it wouldn't even jerk the car at all anymore. I have 24k mi. and mine is being replaced as I write this with a rrm stage 2 and a new throw out bearing.

That would be the throw out bearing. Mitsubishi knows its a problem but is refusing to recall it. Sad thing is if you get it done under warrinty they replace it with the same bearing so its just an on-going cycle.
You can tell if it is this if your engine makes kind of a ticking noise that goes away when you press the clutch in. It is more noticable when the engine is hot or the AC is on.
If you have this and your car is still underwarrinty takie it back imediatly to be fixed. If they try to pass it of as nothing then go to a different dealer.
