A/C Compressor/Electrical Issue

Hey all.... I have an issue... When I turn my fan on inside the car, without the A/C button depressed and the green A/C light not lit, the compressor kicks on and the engine loads as if the A/C is turned on... Is there a relay which may be getting the wrong signal?? I can tell the compressor is running, because you can feel the power loss when you hear the click, but there is no cold air blowing out, and I can tell the difference when you push the A/C button (the air gets colder) and when the air is on, it works great.... any ideas??? Thanks, James

If the air isn't getting cold the compressor isn't running. Some of the guys have had problems with the blower motor and there is a technical bulletin issued for it. If it's drawing too much current this will load the alternator down and drop engine revs. If it does drop the revs by a significant amount i'd see mitsubishi. Do a search and contact the other guys who have had blower problems.
Good luck
