When you installed the new gauge face did you position the needles correctly? Looks like your temp gauge is wrong too.

if you mess with the gauges this is usually what happens, youre speedometer is also probably off a little.

how correct you are. theyre both wrong. the spedo is right. here on base they always got those things that tell you how fast youre going..after i put that white face on i made sure to drive by one.

The face has to click into place when you install it. Chances are it's not clicked in and it's keeping the needles from moving freely. Fuel gauges are notoriously inaccurate, so don't expect it to be totally precise, but you can have it like it was stock if you go back and reinstall the needles (I'm willing to wager).

thanks..ill try that. I THINK they can move freely...it goes up and down when i shut the car off and turn it on. when i start the car up, it SHOOTS up to full.

the temp gauge does almost the same, but it has a lil more movement than the fuel gauge. the fuel gauge always say full, the temp starts @ about the midpoint with these COLD mornings in alaska. but its still wrong.

Fill the tank. Get the car home and bring it to operating temp (run it for like 10 min or maybe more since you're in Alaska). THEN put the needles on. Temp should be in the middle (maybe slightly below) and obviously fuel should be at full. If your tach and speedo are ok, then temp and fuel are "close enough" so don't sweat it.
