RRM Test pipe buzz..
I have the RRM test pipe on my car and since i installed it, i've been hearing this buzzing sound every time i rev the engine. I think its an exhaust leak since its only coming from the test pipe. I tried tightening the bolts on the pipe but i don't really know how tight to make them.. If i use a ratchet and a 3 foot pipe to add more leverage about how tight should i make it. Untill i can't turn it any more or what? thanks

Oh yeah about the gaskets...did anybody else have a hard time lining up the gasket with the front part of the header??? the side closest to the header. The bolts i got are a little small for the holes so i had to use the washers that i got with them to make them hold. Since the bolts were too small for the holes, the gasket didn't really match up to well and i kinda had to guess where to line it up. could this be where my exhaust is leaking from...
and another thing... when i removed my stock cat, the old gaskets were stuck all over the joints. Anyone know how im supposed to get the old gasket off the pipes???

When i installed my cat pipe, i still had stock muffler and it buzzed like hell. Sounded ricey; when i upgraded to Mangaflow catback it went away. Food for thought if your still stock on the back side.

WOW! mines is about a year old too. Anybody think it might be a manufacturer defect?? Or maybe its just wear and tear.
Oh and another thing, when i took off my test pipe, the gaskets were COOKED. I could see a black area where i think the exhaust was leaking from. I bought new gaskets and installed them today and no matter what i tried , the buzzing just wouldn't go away...
And here are a few things i found out while swithcing the gaskets...
1) When you first put the new gaskets in, you won't hear much of a buzzing sound but if you rev your engine while looking under the car you'll se that their is some condensation dripping out from the joint.
2) As you drive your car the heat fries the gaskets, due to the leak, and thats when you hear the buzzing sound. Due to the deterioration of the gaskets.
3) tightening the bolts doesn't help solve the leaking or the buzzing.
4) Turning the gaskets around doesn't eliminate buzzing or leaking.
well thats all i can think of now.. If anybody else has figured out a way to solve this problem please POST.

ok sykou.. i got a lil update. it was bugging me so much that i went to mineke so they can have a look....
#1 they found out my Resonator on my catback exhaust had a huge hole in it. Huge exhaust leak. (i have a steep driveway i think the concrete ripped it open everytime i scraped) So i had them weld a straight pipe in its place ($60 ) untill i get a greddy resonator from RRM.
#2. I still hear it buzzing... but less then before... sounds like loose bolts or something.. it could be the gasket.... Im gonna jack up the car to get a closer look.

maybe the stock muffler creates too much back pressure and it causes the leak thru the gasket... I'm almost about ready to get rid of the test pipe... Is the only way to get rid of the sound to get a straight pipe, or a high flow cat welded on instead of the bolt on test pipe? dam this sucks..
