yes, on the intake pipe. buy a can of MAF cleaner at any auto store for like $4. spray it all over the honey comb and sensor itself. probably wont fix the problem but will do more good than harm.

Mine too. But only from about 3700, 3800-4100, 4200 RPM. Ive learned to floor it until 3700, let off to about 50% throttle, then floor it again at 4200. Runs just fine that way, lol.

No it's cam angle sensor. It's on other side of the cam gear on the head.

How difficult is this thing to change? Like I've mentioned - when it comes to pistons I don't know jack.. however, if the Lancer had a rotary engine then I'd be all over it =P

EDIT: You are right, crank angle sensor. Mirage 2.0 had it wrong, cam position sensor.

On a scale of 1-10, probably about a 1 maybe 2.

Well, add me to the list, my car's doing the same thing now. Has anyone fixed their issue? Has anyone replaced the crank angle sensor?

People it's not the crank sensor that's wrong. It's cam angle sensor that's located on the head. I had the same problem. Trust me.

P.S. If anybody want a perfect working cas, send me a pm.

I think where everyone's getting confused is the fact that there is no cam angle sensor per say. Mitsubishi calls it a cam position sensor, which from what you say is what needs to be replaced (P'Med you about that sensor, by the way). CAS is the acronym for the crank angle sensor.
