Lancer doesnt run properly please help..
I have a 2002 Lancer OZ rally and at about 73-74000 miles it started acting up and giving me a hard time now it barely runs.
Symptoms:
Sputtering
When i press on the gas sometimes it sputters and barely hits 3k rpm's and then it comes to life and shoots up with a roar.
Other times it wont go past 3k
Other times when the gas is pushed it will boggel out and turn off.
I had autozone run a CEL test because my light was on and on one time the error was "Cylendar 2 misfire" the second time was "Oxygen sensor inactive: Bay 1" These two errors prompted me to change the coil over packs and the oxygen sensors but my problem is still happening.
So far i have changed the:
fuel pump
fuel filter
spark plugs
spark plug wires
coil over packs
and the oxygen sensors
I was wondering if anyone out there knows what can cause this or if anyone has had the same problem.
Please help thanks

The same can of Seafoam can clean:
- The intake manifold (Seafoam sucked in through a vaccum line)
- The crank case (Seafoam poured into the crankcase as if you were putting in some oil)
- The fuel system (poured into the gas tank)
Since you're problem doesn't seem to be oil related, I wouldn't use any in the crankcase. Seafoam will disolve anything that may be blocking your fuel system and what not. I'd also put some in the intake manifold.
I'll see if I can find the thread that talks about it...

see i thought that at first also but i replaced the one on cylendar two becuase the code said that the cylander two was missfiring but after i changed it it still did it like this is what it is doin:
I turn on the car and when turning the key it takes a little while to start it tries but after a while it will turn on.
Then it will idle and sumtimes it idles normal
when i press on the gas it will either stutter in a sense as in wont feed gas or it will rev upto about 3000rpms then kind of die out and it will turn off

2 other things, check the connection to your MAF and if need be take the MAF out and look to see that it isnt damaged. This sounds almost like the way mine acted the one time i forgot to hook the damn thing up Also go one by one and take your vacuum lines off and put them back on again nice and tight just to be sure this isnt vacuum related . . . ive dealt with those gremlins before.
