Water traped in the trunk lid!

Well the new Lancer is starting to make me angry. Not only does it have crap for paint, I can hear water in the trunk lid whenI open it. WTF>>>>> I traded my Tiburon GT for this crap.

I hear the same thing...I was starting to think it was the weather stripping sticking to the trunk and sounding like water...because it only does it the first time when opening it....

Tomorrow I am going to the dealer for another issue but I think I will ask them about it...weird...

Well they had a look at the water in the trunk issue but of course it wasn't doing it...I am starting to think it only does it on hot days because today was cooler.

He removed the truck hood liner to look for moisture and nothing found so will keep an eye on it.

I will watch too. It has been dry for a few days. The only place I see where water could be going in is where the tail lights are or where the wing mounts.???

I found out where the water is getting trapped! Some how water is getting trapped in the wing of my GTS. I don't know how, but it is. Good thing it is fiberglass.

You guys are funny. Many manufactures place a small amount of water in the hollow spoilers. Its for weight distribution or something. Google it.

I get the same thing in mine when i wash it. Just open the trunk and leave the lid up for a few mins when drying the car and all the water will run out of it.

The water will run out of where? The spoiler? With 4 bolts I am thinking of removing the spoiler myself to find it...

Yes, it gathers in the spoiler....when you lift the trunk lid look at the point where it makes contact with the base of the spoiler and you will notice the water running from there.

Sorry, I was being sarcastic. I don't know how the water gets in there. But its not only that it does it. I have owned other cars that did the same thing.
