More problems? Fuel gauge is busted...
How in the crap does this happen? It's electronic...
All the other features of the electronic display work perfect, but no matter what fuel level I'm at, my readout tells me I have a full tank. I filled up around Wednesday, and drove down to Columbus (about 2 hours) on Thursday and then back on Saturday, and without filling up, I seemed to have a full tank. I called my dealership and I'm going in on Tuesday morning to have them look at it, but this is a serious problem. Has anyone else experienced anything like this?

Apparently it's something with the fuel tank, so I dropped it off this morning and they said it should be done by 4 or 5. Unfortunately, I'll be working until 8:30, so I won't know if what they did actually works until then.
I guess this has happened before, or so they tell me. But on the other guys car, they actually had to replace the fuel tank. Sheesh.

Yeah, sounds like a sending unit...not sure about replacing the entire tank, unless the geniuses at Mitsu some how intregrated it in the tank? This is all being done under warranty, right? Any $ out of your pocket?

No, it's all covered under warrenty (I'd hope so considering there's only 3700 miles on it...). I don't know the purpose, but they said they have to take out and 'modify' the fuel tank. I'm guessing it's just some wire, or level sensor or something that is off.

I just got this problem too. I drove roughly 40 miles and my fuel tank isn't moving at all and my miles to refuel is going up its at 450 right now. Called my dealer they told me the guy they would need to talk to is out for lunch but hope its just an easy fix

Sounds like another thing to add to the new "things wrong with the '08" thread...It could be electronic, or the fuel bobber thing itself. Who knows...just post back after they fix it!

They fixed it, but I've yet to notice the fuel gauge move. It went down to where the gas was when they 'fixed' it, but it hasn't really moved since then.
And they also jacked up my exhaust when they put it back on...it's sitting a lot lower than it should be.

Not adding it until I see a few more. 2 people doesn't make a "known problem" to me. It needs to be more like 90% of all cars.

My fuel gauge doesn't move much either. I don't pay too much attention though, as I usually go by what I have left for KM as told by the computer. I prefer the analog fuel gauge. This is my first car with the digital gauge, so I don't know if most cars with them are correct on their reading.

That's pretty normal. Every car I've ever driven has done that. The first couple gallons don't even register on the gauge (always says full) and then once it gets below a certain point it starts going down.
