Engine Noise- Lifters???Ticking Sounds???
Just got my 08 GTS last sat. when i first drove it, i didnt notice any ticking sound coming out in the engine compartment. Or i just wasnt really paying attention to the sound when i bought the car. But now i hear ticking sound when my car is Idle and whirring sound when you accelarate around 1500rpm.... is that normal for a car that hasnt been in the (break in period)? And also i drove it to 4000 RPM with the Manual Transmission Mode (tiptronic) when i was test driving my gts haha. Would that be the problem and now paying the consequences that i did haha. Please Help before i go busting out harsh words @ the DealerShip

You're going to have to be a bit more descriptive on the sounds...lol...
But honestly, if its like a minor ticking noise when you first start up, I've been in 3 2008 GTSs and they all do, I think it's just the Mitsubishi motor.
Mine was like that too when I bought it...it still does it a little...but after you break it in it dies down a bit....but generally, that's just the sound of the motor itself, not an indicator that something is faulty...

The valve lash in most 4 cylinder cars will create a little ticking but nothing excessively noisy. I shouldn't see bringing up to 4000 rpm being a big deal, hell I had mine at 5000 when breaking it in once or twice..
With the windows up I can't hear any ticking. But if its excessively noisy, take it to the dealer and they will want to fix it before it develops into a bigger problem in the engine. If it is normal they will give you the honest truth.
I think if they did hear something wrong they would fix it before it could get worse due to the warranty issues. Its cheaper for them to do a small fix than an engine swap. In my experience warranty claim will pay only so much labour and part and usually the labour warranty pays for is ridiculously fast times to do the job. That is at least with semi trucks.
