Bad radio signal

Hi Everyone,

I dont know if this is just a problem with my car or maybe there are others but has anyone been having problems with your FM radio signal? Normally I just plug in my ipod but I forgot it on this certain trip and when I was driving I noticed the sound quality of the radio fade then come back on strong. I wasn't in a bad area either, I've been checking it daily now and it doesn't matter where I am but the signal with fade on my FM stations and I am not sure why. Does anyone have a fix for this?

and the new unit will most likely have the same problem, unless they found a fix. The deck is trying to convert the analog radio signal to digital and doesn't have a very good converter.

Honestly, go aftermarket. In many people's experiences (as you see above), the stock unit just sucks. Even a cheapo $100 unit will probably be better than the stock item.

Is there a replacement unit that would also work with the bluetooth connection for phones?

the bluetooth is a different unit all together, you wont get muting out of an aftermarket deck

A few weekends ago I went out to the cottage which is about 3 hours away from any major city. I had perfect radio reception the entire ride up there and the other 2 passengers were absolutely amazed that I had reception all the way there.

However for the past couple of days my radio reception has been crap. Fading, cutting in and out and intermittent static while in the city. It was never like this before. I was thinking maybe its because its been very humid here the past couple of days but I'm starting to think otherwise.

just wanted to put my 2 cents into this, My 09 ralliart signal sucks, I just had the head unit replaced and the reception still sucks. Its so bad I get sick of it and just turn the radio off. I'll probably be going aftermarket in the next couple of months.

I have the MMCS and i notice that the reception is a bit weak as well....not horrible but the signal indicator flickers sometimes. Is this an issue with all of the OEM Lancer Model radios?
