Road Race Header Cracked???
So im at a red light and i notice the smell of exhaust inside the car. I go home and sit in the driveway and still smell it. I checked the flanges and bolts and everything is tight. I think i can see where the header is cracked by the bracket welded to the header. What can i do? Can i bring it to a exhaust shop and have them weld the crack?

Find for sure where the leak is. An exhaust shop should be able to fix it for you. Also, call RRM and see what they can do for you. Check the flex section too, this is a possibility area of the leak.

slightly late on this post but RRM is VERY WILLING to replace defective or unsatisfactory parts. They have the best customer service of any company I have dealt with hands down. Rob and the crew want you to be 100% satisfied every time.

lol I think RRMS prices are very reasonable. They aren't a charity, they need to make money somehow. Honda's, Scion tC's, ect. are able to have cheaper parts because there are more people to sell to and more people buying. It's like selling 30 headers for $150 (company gets $4500 - production cost and R&D) vs 10 Headers for $300 ( $3000 - production and R&D). Even tho they are charging twice as much, they still aren't making alot of money since R&D is probable like $2750.
I've seen some Evo companies charge $1,000 for a piece of pipe with no muffler, that seems like an overcharge to me.
Its good to see that they are replacing the Header, great customer service.

+1 you guys gotta keep in mind RRM isn't a huge company like AEM, Skunk2, Injen, Magnaflow where they have full production lines that mass produce these parts. All these parts are for the most part hand made in RRM's shop in smaller quantities for a niche market.

promise you if they sold the headers for 150-200 bucks we would all have headers.
so the above post is right, if you see it as a rip off or not, the truth of the matter is the amount of profit that they make off of yall from almost every purchase they can afford to replace products. i work in business and work with wholesale shippers and stuff and have a little experience with the car side. it probably costs RRM 100 bucks to manufacture headers they sell it at 400 bucks 300 bucks profit off each order. now you tell me if they have a problem you wont replace it.

That may be 100 in just materials. Steel prices are not cheap, as well as other metals. Then the time spent connecting the parts together and making sure it passes QC. you are looking at at least a few man hours per part made. There are other things to factor in besides the cost of materials.

Turns out my RRM Headers have a hole in the weld. I got them in Feb. and this hole apparently showed up about a month later. I've been having SES P0171 Lean in Bank 1. I just got off the phone with them and they want me to have the hole repaired locally to save on shipping...
