Misfire between 0 and 5% throttle? HELP!
Ok i got a 2003 oz and ive been chasing this misfire problem for quite some time now. At idle it has a constant miss like 1 cylinder i not firing at all. If i hold the throttle just a bit the idle drops and it sounds like 2 cylinders are constantly missing. Now when i try to get off the line, if i take off at like 20 to 70 percent throttle it barly misses but if i take off at wot, the engine misses like crazy from 800 to 2000 rpms. As far as trouble codes, its throwin a bank 1 too lean, cylinder 4 misfire and a multiple misfire. Ive changed and checked almost everything. Anyone got any tips or anything - it would be awesome.

Hmm its always good to use Ngk on imports for some reason .
Try going to your local auto parts store and buy some Ngk v power plugs (about 6-8 bucks a set) . See what happens after that before you start to spend alot more . But since you did move around the coils and wires and got a lean cel it sounds to me like a clogged or bad fuel injector .

Its not all that good to pull them out and blow on them since they do have many small parts inside . But hmmmmm other than spark , fuel now air ? Not sure but is your mas sensor clean and do you have a good air filter? Or maybe even a really dirty intake manifold restricting air from your motor . Your car does not make any sound out of the ordinary from misfiring does it ?

no just what an everyday misfire would sound like. Now also i have a cold air intake with a k/n air filter and i have 3 mafs that i have tried on my car and they are all in proper working order. Also my car has a 3 inch magnaflow cat back exhaust and ive heard that the drop in backpressure can f%@& things up.

Well see heres the thing. I bought the car with the exhaust on it and i have reset the ecu and it just always runs like ****. Does anybody have any opinions on that o2 sensor spacer from rrm that is supposed to clear codes on lancers with headers and exhausts?

All that is is a spark plug anti-fouler that is severely overpriced. You can pick up the same thing from Autozone for under $10. It backs the O2 sensor out of the exhaust stream to give the sensor the illusion the exhaust is flowing slower. It isn't a 100% fix all, but works a good percentage of the time.

As senate said, don't buy the spacer crap.
It won't solve the problem you have anyway. People use the spacer to fix code P0421 and that's not what you're getting.
Only cylinder 4 misfiring... constantly... no matter what you do...
This calls for a compression test. All that misfiring could have done some serious damage to your piston and/or ring.
And no offense but... 3" no turbo? You must be hella slow!
