2002 lancer 4cyl. timing
I have just installed new timing belt in my daughters lancer oz, rally.
it sounds like the tming is off there was a white mark on the cam sprocket
in the groove too the left of timing line on sprocket . I installed it on the line
and when I rotated the engine, twice they lined back up.just like the book tells you.
the idle is rough. And stutters if i throttle it quick.
Should i rotate the belt one tooth lft or rt.? or check somthing else.I installed new waterpump and crank positioning sensor.diddnt want to go back and do it later.
Any help or ideas will be greatly apriciated.

Just to be sure you lined up thses marks correct?
Also when installing the timing belt you want to start at the cam and follow the engine rotation keeping the belt tight of course so from the cam sprocket >water pump > crank gear > then slide it over the tensioner pulley. then make sure to slightly rotate the engine just maybe a 1/4 turn with that tensioner loose so all the slack gets soaked up by that spring on the tensioner pulley to have to correct belt tension. Then tighten the pulley up and rotate the engine at least twice to confirm the marks line back up good luck

I have a 2003 Lancer (2.0) I Changed the timing belt, tentioner, water pump and seal. I put it back together and fires up fine. However on the test drive it seems it looses power when taking off.
