Dome Light Problem

Hi everyone,
This is my first post here! I bought my 03 Lancer OZ on Tuesday around 8pm. It has 9000 miles on it, and it runs great.

Here goes my problem:

The dome light does not work when switched to door mode. It works in the "on" position, but it stays on. When I have it on the door position, it never works. Anyone got any ideas I could try to get it going?

If not, I can get it in sometime next week and it can be fixed under warranty.

Does it not work with any of the doors or just one in particular.

No, it's not in the off position... first thing i checked. I tried the turn on, close door and switch to door... didn't work either... guessing it just needs to visit my local mitsu dealer for a warranty checkup.

Yeah, should be an easy fix. The light may be burnt out though (worth a check).

Just to make sure, you know there are 3 switch positions, right? One side is always on, the other side is always off, and the middle is door mode.

Yup... know that. Had my friend's dad look at (good with cars and custom stuff) it and he couldn't figure it out either, so it's monday now and it can go see someone at service to take a look at it.

Love my lancer!

Went to the dealership today... they are ordering a new computer/controller for it... The lady at service said that it's working but for some reason it's not picking up the door signal so they are replacing the part on Thursday.

A computer/controller... Hmmm if that doesnt sound like a crooked service manager...

Or it could be that the the 03 Mitsubishi Lancer OZ is so advanced in its design that even the dome light needs to be computer controlled.
