Help! Header Install - How to get to the lower left nut?!
I need some help asap! I tried installing my new RRM header tonight and I could not find a way to get the lower left nut off of the stock header (the 14mm one that is the left most of the bottom row). How did you all get that off without taking half my engine apart?! I need an answer asap! Thanks!

my way:
1. cool the car down or have it sitting for a bit
2. take a boxed end wrench .. (boxed on BOTH sides preferrably)
3. take a 3+ foot long rope which isn't too thick
4. fit one end of the wrench onto the bolt, as low as possible
5. feed the rope up through the header
6. YANK IT UPWARDS!
7. repeat steps 4-7 as you will loosen it slowly but surely and will be able to get it off with your fingers
the install of the aftermarket header will be MUCH easier in getting to that bolt.
seriously - this was the only way I could get the damn thing off without moving or cutting anything to the left of the nut .. it actually worked quickly and fairly easily.

well i dunno if this helps...but the way i got it off, I put the wrench onto the bolt manuevering it underneath the header, and just put it on. then i just took another wrench and hooked it on to the one i put on the bolt and i used it for leverage. It worked great and i didnt have to take anything off/apart.
Its kind oh hard to explain, but maybe this will help
*bolt* *wrench*
o <---- 0====C
hook the wrench onto the bolt
0====C
Connect another wrench onto this one (above) 0====C and pull for leaverage.
Thats how i did it, w/o much trouble...hehe hope u understood

i took off the timing belt cover(the black plastic), then bent back the metal backing plate, and it was cake(use box wrench).
of course as the same time, i dropped a bolt into the housing, and had to pay a mechanic 240 bucks to get it out. i guess if you really wanted to, you could skip that part. no guarantees it would work though

I used the same procedure digdat described when I installed my RRM header a few months ago. Worked great and was about the only way I could get the nut off without disassembling anything else.

Digdat has the best way i think aswell. But what i did was put the 1/8" square end 14mm socket on the bolt and used a 1/8" extention that has an elbow in it and another 1/8" extention connected to the 1/8" wrench and just turned it. It was kinda still difficult, i droped the socket like 5 times, but i got it off. Digdat is the best way.

Alright heres a pic, have to excuse my uber photoshop skills, but you should get the picture!
The idea here is to put the wrench on the bottom bolt (spot A)at about an angle perpindicular to the ground (that means sideways) and have a rope tied to one end (spot B). I held the wrench on the bolt with my hand (spot A) so it wouldn't flop off while my brother held the rope (spot C) and pulled straight up and it came right off. Leverage at its best.
