engine prob

Hey i need to take my car back to the dealership to get it fixed. Engine is not working right dont know whats wrong with it and im wondering if they're gonna ***** about my valve cover being powder coated (got it from RRM) and say that i violated warranty. or should i just find someone that would temporarily trade valve covers with me so i can take it back to the dealer.

Probably not, unless the valve cover was found to be the cause of your engine malfunction. The chances of that are very unlikely.

Just say you got creative with some powder coating kit.

Mitsubishi uses gaskets that need to be replaced each time you take off the valve cover to get a nice seal around the pistons and cylinders. They have copper crush gaskets so when you remove the cover, you lose that seal if you don't replace it. Possibly something to consider.

Well i had no problems with it earlier. i was sitting at a stop light everything working just fine and then as soon as I got going again it felt like the engine started shakin or stuttering all of a sudden. and i havent heard of anyone else on the forums having problems after doing their valve cover (painting or powder coating). and i also think that they would've said something about replacing the gasket at RRM when i went down there and got it put on.

Maybe rock can touch upon this subject. Could the valve cover be the cause of my problem.

Valve cover cannot be problem. PCV valve on valve cover could be clogged and causing it. Bring car by Saturday morning and we can look at it or unscrew the PCV vavle where hose goes in to valve cover and check to see that no paint is stuck in there. Clean it out good. Make sure pices come out not go back in the engine. Clean the valve itself. Bet that is it.

A piece of metal that simply acts as a cover is the problem? I love Rob and the gang but I don't think your problem is that complex. Let's work on a diagnosis: Is it a recurring problem? Does it only happen at certain times?

its really noticeable at low rpms. I'd say between 1.5k-2.5k. It almost feels like its bouncing or something, hard to explain. Check engine light is on.
Rock would it be possible for me to come in friday morning instead, gotta work sat.
