the Aveo is actually a good choice...with the rebates and everything you can pick one up for around 7k out the door...not bad for a brand NEW car.
Not that I'm a fan of the bowtie {chevy} or anything!

the Aveo is actually a Daewoo. When they first went on sale earlier this year Chevy actually sent a message to all dealerships to immediately stop sales of this car because they were having so many problems with them. After a few weeks I think they started selling them again but not sure how they addressed the issues (or even if they addressed them at all). I'd still shy away from Korean makes other than a Hyundai right now personally.

buy a corolla, i have a 92 with 198k miles on it and it still runs. Drips maybe a drop of oil every now and then but I havent been the best when it comes to maintaining her (family car since 92, handy down). So ill votch for corolla, my sister has a 97 accord with the 4 banger and gawd them things are slow. If you get an accord get it with a v6 because the weight will kill the 4banger.

toyotas are awesome, some of my friends have early 80s volvos and they have crazy mileage on them and they still run strong, this one guy i knew had like 300k on his engine!
