hey mr. Ashley, with the right suspension setup, the srt will play with an RX8 in the twisties no problem. and every straightaway, you will pull even further away!!!!

aight with the right suspension your claiming your SRT-4 on donut rims is gonna keep up with a RX-8? last i saw where i live the SRT-4's cant even keep up with the N/A mini coopers were i live let alone RX-8's. Im not a SRT-4 hater but that car isnt anything more then a straight shooter and its good at what it does. But by no means is it a Canyon CAR!

I find this highly unlikely. Face it, the SRT4 is a wrong wheel drive car and the drivers are all straight line no talent *** clowns who's big dream is to beat Honda boys on the street.

Anyhow, you are off topic since has nothing to do with an RX8 or an Evo, which is what this thread is about.

Having driven both the RX8 and the Evo extensively, I can say with 100% certainty that it all comes down to driver.

not off topic bud, stiener is an SRT buddy of mine, just telling him that his car now can play with them. and watch what you say about the drivers and their talents. a regular autocrosser here, with an SRT - and i do pretty well for myself with a "wrong wheel drive car!"

and for all of you who say its not possiable, please know what your talking about before shooting yourself in the foot. with a decent set of tires - the stock ones are way to tiny - and the full coilover set up that mopar offers the car handles very well. i dont know if anyone read Sport Compact Cars article about the SRT4 lightweight. car pulled nearly 1.0 on the skidpad with the coilovers and small sways. with the hotckis bars that he is running, and a set of mopar stage 3 bars the rx8 doesnt stand a chance.

i dont know, 20grand plus 1500 for coilovers and sways is still way less than a RX8. and i would be driving an evo if it was availiable when i needed to buy a car, however it was still more than 6 months away.

stock, yes doesnt handle. but with a little money it will outhandle it. i will personally vouch that stock is dangerously sloppy. but with the CO's and sways, its a totally different beast. if anyone doesnt agree, they are more than welcome to take my car out for a spin.

So it sounds like that on paper the Evo is a better handling car...but not by much. I'm obviously aware of the power advantages of the Evo. The RX-8 is horribly underpowered for a car wearing the "RX" badge and sporting a rotary motor. The guy that owns the car is a good guy, he's just British. He calls everyone mate. LOL.

BTW...Tim...I hear you and I know. Check out what the FWD Alfa Romeo is doing to BMW in the European racing championships. Also the Neon ACR has a lot of autox success. And that lightweight SRT-4 in SCCA got 8th in the "One Lap" beating lots of RWD cars. I'm talking stock for stock though. It would take close to $3,000 in coilovers, rims, tires and stiffer sway bars to get where I wanna be.
