I'm not proud of it, but a ws vert started jumping on me at a light and I waxed it through third and pulled back.
He caught up to me as we reached a big s curve- left off camber, then right with me on the outside initially. I EMBARASSED that car as I went full throttle through the s. I was stopped at the next light when I finally saw him in my rearview.
EVO=2
WS6=big fat nasty zero

But 3.23's were definitely NOT optional on 6-speeds!

Here is a lil paragraph from motertrend:
On the dragstrip, our Trans Am ripped 0-60 mph in 5.0 seconds and cleaned up the quarter mile in 13.5 seconds at 107.4 mph. (Funny how it beat the same-engined, similarly weighted Camaro SS by 0.2 second and 1.8 mph.) In handling, it mercilessly matches its Bow-Tie relative by pulling 0.84 g on the skidpad and zipping through the slalom at 64.6 mph. Mash the brake pedal to the floor, and the large 11.9-inch front and 12-inch rear vented disc brakes bring the Pontiac to a halt in 121 feet (11 better than the Camaro). For purists, these acceleration stats also beat virtually every Pontiac musclecar, including the legendary '69 GTO Judge with its 370-gross-horsepower 400-cubic-inch V-8. And in handling and braking, it wouldn't even be a contest.
Just paper racing the numbers are very close.

No two magazine tests are alike. However, I would take well known and respected driver like Evan Smith (he was the only one who was able to get bone stock Z28 and SS in 12.9x seconds) from MM&FF over motortrend/C&D/R&T magazine test drives, but that's just me.

would somebody just host my little video of me at the TRACK against one??!!!! Yes, from a roll the TA has a HUGE advantage...but you can see on here how shiotty they are from stop.

I have run a modded SS Camaro with cams, headers, catback exhaust, intake, and LS1 edit from a 45 mph roll in the Evo. He jumped early and got a car lead on me, he kept that 1 car lead through the rest of 2nd gear and in 3rd I started to pull him in. I made the 1 car lead up by the begining of 4th and pulled slowly away in 4th and 5th gear to top of 5th gear. I ended up about 1/2 or 3/4 of a car length in front of him.
If we had left at the same time and he didn't start with a 1 car lead, I would have pulled on him 1.5 car lengths. My car is running the stock 16G6 with a 10.5 housing. I was even running my Random Tech high flow cat and only running 93 octane and running 19 to 21 psi of boost (depending on the gear, my car runs more boost in 4th and 5th than it does in 3rd)..
I also ran a C5 corvette with vari-ram intake and exhaust and pulled him in 3rd, 4th and 5th gear from a roll. I was pulling away hard in 5th gear. I was running with the test pipe and 110 octane/93 octane mix.
Those LS-1's pull hard on the top end, but you can make an Evo pull just as hard if not harder, and you don't have to go to a bigger turbo.
