Dumb a** stock or near stock 350Z owner is claiming his 350Z smokes EVOs all day and night, he says he is 22 wins and 1 defeat against EVOs, total BS. Iasked him to come over to here and back up his claim, do you think he has the *****? Or is he just full of BS???

If he is near stock and you go drag race you will win easy. I have seen at least 10 of them at the drag in stock condition. I can't recall 1 that ran sub 14.4. They are very consistant around that though. They are a good race for a mustang gt or srt-4. If its from a roll it will be closer, but you should still win if you can drive worth a shat.

1st- he is posting on an rsx board...
2nd- he drives an 05...so he can't be too experienced with it.
3rd- his link does not work... wonder why.

From a roll it can be interesting stock-for-stock. Weighs about the same, puts up similar numbers. Has a MUCH lower cD than the Evo though. Remember, we have apartment-block aerodynamics. In higher gears he'd be liable to slowly slip away.

I understand what you are saying, but the way this guy makes out to be, like the 350Z is superior, and that is not the case. While it may be closer from a roll, I still know a properly driven EVO is faster than a 350Z stock for stock from a roll or dig.

all things considered a 350z is faster than an evo from a roll to high speeds. i'm pretty sure that's factual... i think they DO put down more HP at the wheels and have better aerodynamics and no turbo taper or awd loss. but watch out! he's got a popcharger! ohmygooodddddddd he's fast

doubtful... they are rwd, so they lose less, and are rated higher to begin with. i think it's about 10-15whp difference.

I have a turbo OZ with some other mods and i took one until 3rd gear.... He stayed right behind me at like my trunk the whole time.

in all the mag tests I've read the EVO runs about 7/10's of a second quicker in a quarter mile than a Z so if this guy has some intake and exhaust work it may be close but stock for stock the EVO should take it. Then again, the difference is so small it could be the guy with the Z is just a great driver and is able to make up those tenths of seconds. Who knows......but being a Z owner and being in a few EVO's I'd put my $$$ on an EVO from a dig all day long......at the top end though the bigger Z powerplant should take over.

If he had to run a 05 MR model, it together with the 6 speed will beat it hands down.. however the earlier 03,04 models with the 5 speed had also a slightly detuned engine compared to a JDM model,therefore maybe in a real world situation where driver matters, it will be close but then again, I'd still say EVO's all the way!!!

You'd be surprised, with a good driver a 350z or a G35 is a pretty good runner.. They have decent top end and can really surprise an unsuspecting overconfident stock evo driver... In the standing quarter the Evo is quite a bit quicker though.
