Alright boys, please keep the discussion civil. Otherwise I'll have to close this.
To add my two cents, the DSM is a very capable performer. It features the older phase 4G63, which is definitely one of the best 2.0L turbo engine in the world, rank right up there with the EJ20T. To be honest, I don't think enough here in the forum can give objective opinion about them....

Having owned both..I still like both..the gsx..well besides bad brakes and numerious odd and end problems..crank sensor, computer failure was a good car..Ive had the wrx..(around 250 hp,for right now) and no problems..I still like the evo and sti,I think people should just enjoy their cars..theirs always something better.

I think both EVO and STI are respectable cars that each have their own good and bad's,however; I see that the majority that bash either car in regard to 1/4mi times or whatever track times forget why these cars were built (Hint - Not for the strip fellas. Go get a LS1 or other RWD car for that if that's you thing)
They're Rally cars designed to "handle" and "perform". The ones we can now buy(applause) just happen to be the street performance brotheren of their Rally siblings. These are a driver's car. A car that makes you smile on the commute home the backway on twisty roads and makes you want to go for a drive because it's fun and fast.

All I know is that the reason I never even considered Subaru was their history of ****-transmissions/drivetrains. My aunt had to sell hers after the differential locked up for the fourth, repeat fourth time in 6 years. That's ****. I had enough transmission problems when I had a jeep, and that taught me one thing... power isn't worth a damn if you can't get it to the ground.

Funny, I have worked at a subaru dealer for 3 years now and have only seen one rear diff problem that wasn’t caused by negligence. And we service 20 or more cars a day with %30 of those modified WRXs.
But, what do I know…
