outlander performance parts?

we've had ours since about nov. It is my wifes car. But she loves it. I like it for what it is...it is not a performance car...so i don't expect performance out of it...contrary to what the critics think. It is a great car. It actually has about as much room as the montero sport but less shoulder room in the rear seat...thats it..otherwise it's aobut as big on the inside....and hell...it handles great!! In terms of performance parts I am sure a turbo kit that fits the 2.4 liter eclipse could be adapted some how...but that is just assumption. But good luck.

There are always free/cheap easy ways to get more hp. Screwing around with the airbox will help you a little. K&N drop in filter. Little things here and there.
Actually, installing small wheels could be a temporary fix.

They're considering a V6 with the next one, I've heard. Either way, I like the strange little Cute-ute.

Oh yeah, and there are a few small SUVs with V6s, and around the same price, so, I don't see what's so outrageous. Compare that to rumors of bring MIVEC stateside, and the Eclipse which is also equipped with a V6. Again, just reporting what I've heard, but, at the same time, it's not that big of a deal.

Okay, so, a larger 4cyl than 2.4? Based off what engine family? Manufactured where? What displacement?
After 2.4, it gets closer to 3.0, which is the size of a small 6, but a gigantic 4cyl. Seems to me that this is absolute bunk. It would be cheaper to install a MITSUBISHI 6 cyl like the one from the Eclipse (which could utilize the same transmission and drivetrain with minor modification), than develop and install an ultra large displacement 4cyl which would undoubtedly require a new transmission design as well. This really makes no sense, considering the price the Outlander is with AWD is already higher than alot of it's segment, including domestics and midsized Imports.
Also haven't you cited that Mitsu is working with Hyundai? If so, then why would is it that the Kia Sorento (a subdivision of Hyundai, or is it the other way around) can have a V6 under 20K, and not an Outlander with a V6 for around 22-24? That's just insane.
No offense, but, I've heard various Mitsu workers with the "inside track" before, and most of them turned out to be wrong by the time the cars hit the salesfloor.

isn't the Outlander getting the new 2.7L I-4?
and if it remains a good seller a V6 wouldn't be out of the question. Look at the Outback, it was popular and people wanted a deluxe one and Subaru answered with their Flat6. But this didn't happen until the Outback had proven to be a popular car, and it's price range could shift upward some, at least at the top end of it's model line.

Sorry, if I'm wrong, I'm wrong. But, that sounds stupid. Not saying that about anyone else's words, but, that seems like a bad cost-effective move. A new 2.7L versus an already proven, and manufactured 3.0L V6. I mean, come on...
