Post MR2,MKIII, or 240sx

Hey guys, which would you recommend if their prices were similar?A second-generation MR2 turbo, a MKIII Supra or a 240sx?

Kind of depends on what exactly you are looking for, but I have owned several MR2 Turbos, and I love those cars... It is getting harder and harder to find a good one now days, but if you can find a good one, they are very fun and pretty easy to mod. 1993+ have much better brakes and the LSD tranny which is nice. You can check my (old and outdated) web site for info on my old MR2s:

I miss them.... but the Evo (which I still have yet to make a page for ) is a nice replacement!

just sold my mr2 a few days ago... the 3sgte was one of the best engines toyota ever made, and the mr2 handles like a go-kart. just need to know where the limit is, as when you reach it the rear end comes around on ya. other than that and leaky t-tops, awesome car.

btw i love the TOMS kit... i had a full bomex on mine...

What are you trying to do with it? Each has some pretty significant pros and cons.

Supra -> Best drag car
MR2 -> Best handling
240SX -> Can be made into a lot of different things.

I would pick the 240 or MR2, but I've always liked those better than the MKIII.

MR2...friend has one, instantly fell in love

of course if you're 6'0 or taller than i am, then i dont recommend it...but otherwise, go for it! can't beat hearing the engine from behind...and go-kart handling =]

I really like all of the cars, and would pick up whichever I could actually find in good shape, but the 240 is probably the easiest to find still. However, the MR2 was my first love, and I think I have to buy one at some point

If you're leaving it alone, I'd get the MR2.

3SGTE MR2 is freaking awesome. Get one with the t-top and put the TRD bodykit and Racing Hart C5's on.

Of course if you could pay the same cash for a SR20DET 240sx and do a S15 front end conversion that'll be hot too...but it's hard to trust other ppl's work in the SR20 swap. The 3SGTE is bulletproof and still used today in professional racing.

It's impossible to find a TRD bodykit.

mk111... After the motor is touched up(new bearings, metal headgasket) you can make 400whp fairly easy...
lexus air flow meter, 550's, full exhaust, afc, basic upgrade turbo...
tons of aftermarket support, still has a backseat and is priced much lower than a mr2..

Depends on what you want. A 240 is more practical with it's trunk or hatchback configuration but will not be as fast as a MR2 Turbo. The MR2 has the nearly bulletproof 3SGTE motor and a mid engine configuration that loves to be driven. Both are fun cars and have their spot they perform best in. A MK3 Supra turbo is nice, but it has too much stuff on it and is more of a cruiser than a drivers car. Finding one in good condition is getting really hard and the 7MGTE motor has head gasket issues. I love them all for different reasons, you just need to figure which one fits your lifestyle best.
