I agree. You can get an older LT1 for 5 grand or less(with 6spd of course). Build the engine to handle 15 or greater lbs of boost and you will be talking about some serious power. That would be my vote. Or if you like the LS1 more you can get them for 10 grand+STS turbo(about 3k) and then your at 400 whp on a completly stock engine.

civic? lame.

If you NEED forced induction, for whatever reason, get an srt4 or a dsm turbo.

Otherwise if you want to go fast for cheap, get an f-body, cams and heads. Youl have at least 400 whp. Done.

If you want to go fast for really cheap a Fox body Mustang will do.

But a F-body with heads and cam will be over 500 like I have. Ive seen cam onlys do 450 or better. Like I said above if you want really chep and really fast get a LT1 build a 406ci turbo or supercharger it and your probaly looking at 500-700whp depending on what you do. Or the LS1 with a STS on a stock engine will do 400whp at 5 psi.

A little less on the high performance side, but still very sporty cars, and nice to drive too:

'97+ Audi A4

They can be AWD and the 1.8t can make decent (but not crazy) power. Nice interior, don't look ancient, and they're pretty cheap too.

CRX, h22 turbo swap. Owns everything.. almost. It will break ya to the 9's/10's. The thing only weights like 1500lbs. Put about 320+hp in it and see what you get.

True, but I would look for something that looks better. It might run 9's but looks like a fart can.

And a sport bike will cost less to own and operate, be 100x cooler, will hold as many people, be just as fast, and will be darn near just as safe as that death trap.

Yea, there's a few websites where people have their timeslips and dyno's posted in CRX's turbo H22 swaps. Just do a google search. =)
