Hyundai Accent SR

What do you thank of this Hyundai Accent SR? It's still unclear as to if it will be produced, however if it does it may have as mush as 260 BHP and possibly AWD.
This car will weigh in around 2300 lbs. I know it doesn't have four doors and it's a Hyundai, a brand usually only considered by the credit challenged and misers, but still 260 BHP, AWD and 2300 lbs sounds like big fun to me. Plus being a Hyundai it would likely cost very little. It's my understanding that Hyundai'a are not bad cars and plus have a 10 year warranty.

I think if they actually made this I would be compelled to check it out. What say you?

Looks like a Mazda 3 and an Altima had a baby.

I think it looks pretty good, but I'd rather have the upcoming tiburon. Kia (hyundai's sister company) is supposedly working on a turbocharged all wheel drive Rio. That would more than likely be considered the 4 door alternative to the hyundai accent since they are basically the same car.

that looks great! and the idea of 260hp and 2300lbs..wow, that should be a quick car.

are they entering that car in the WRC or something? sounds like a rally car to me..and reminds me of the focus wrc car.

Hyundai has been in WRC for a while. The Accent is their mainstay for WRC so I guess it would make sense that they will have a WRC version of this car.

Some sources report this car to be confirmed for the US market. The devil however, is in the details. I figure a 0-60 of low fives or better if the US car has 260 bhp. The real magic of light weight is what it does for the handling and feel of the car. Decreasing the weight really does transform a car.

The only thing I think it REALLY needs is to be a manual, I can't imagine anyone would want such a car as an automatic. I'm sure the Automatic tranny was just for the show car.

Agreed. If they do bring it over it will be a watered down version. Nice car though. The styling isn't to over the top and if it really does weigh 2300 pounds the thing would be a rocket with 260 horses. I hope they don't bring it here because I'd have to get one.

That's the only Hyundai I've ever seen that I'd want.

^Agreed. That thing actually looks really good. Hyundai has had their accent in WRC for quite some time and they have done quite well. I don't think I would pick one over my Evo but....... How about getting it as my daily driver?????Not bad looking at all though

Looks good, I highly doubt a production version would have 260 hp and weigh 2300 lbs, more like 200 hp and weigh 2600-2800 lbs. That would still be a quick car if hyudai kept the price down.
