i felt like crying when i saw it, it is a modern nostalgia car that appeals to a whole cult following the car is supremely amazing. they have to drop that ralliart **** and just name it what it is

THE NEW ECLIPSE GSX

if they sell it it will probably go for about 40k i'd gladly pay that much for this car i believe it is worth that and more.

If it sold for 40K, it would go the way of the Trans Am, for the same reason: the people who wanted the car the most would not be able to afford it.

Was the Trans Am too expensive? I thought the ASSCAR fans simply preferred the Chevrolet Monte Carlo "Intimidator" SS with its FWD and 240hp.

Anyhow, I'd pay $40K for the Ralliart Eclipse (aka GSX).

Trans Am pricing was getting stupid towards the end... around 36K for a loaded one back in the late 90's... I think you'd see a dedicated core of people paying 40K for a ralliart eclipse but if they can price it at around 30-35K they'd get a ton of buyers and it would work wonders for their image. I think they could get it to that price once they productionize some of the details. You'd lose some of the carbon and the Rays wheels but all the other speedy bits could probably stay.

I have another car to use when I need space for 5 people. I've never had more than 2 in my evo at one time.

if they released tha car like that it probably would be 40k or more...but if they did it more realistically they would sell it without the HKS tune ... but the concept shows its aftermarket capabilities (which it shouldnt have to since its just the 4G63)

If they built the car I think it would be a great failure for Mitsubishi. It's still overweight. I bet a production style of that car would come in at 3500-3600 lbs. That is just way too much weight for a 2.0L car turbo or not. The off-boost performance would be very doggish forcing them to either to shorten up the gearing or put a smaller turbo on it to spool very fast. (2300-2500 PRM Range) Also, It would not be crisp and tight like the evo. They have already admitted the new model is a GT and not sports car (huge mistake IHMO)

I smell another 3000GT which was not a great seller and was very overweight.
