That is just way too much weight for a 2.0L car turbo or not. The off-boost performance would be very doggish forcing them to either to shorten up the gearing or put a smaller turbo on it to spool very fast. (2300-2500 PRM Range) Also, It would not be crisp and tight like the evo. They have already admitted the new model is a GT and not sports car (huge mistake IHMO)

I smell another 3000GT which was not a great seller and was very overweight.
Actually, the 3000GT was proportionately successful. It was not huge in terms of units sold, it did outsell (total over its 9 year run) and outlast all other Japanese sports cars (3000GT died in 1999).
Though I do agree that it was more of a GT than a true sports car and it seems that the Eclipse is heading that way too. The EVO has pretty much replaced the Eclipse as the sports car in 's line-up...
If the coupe market weren't so damn cyclical and hit or miss, I could see a new model taking the Eclipse's place... Though I have no idea what it would be...

Just adding more info if not posted already! Don't Know too much about it, but I would take one or two! I mean I could toe my ECLIPSE RALLIART to the track with my phat azz STREET RAIDER dropped and rollin on 7-spoke 22-inch rims measuring 265 millimeters up front and a super-fat 305 millimeters in the rear. Even though, the Street Raider Concept is "designed to be the ideal truck for towing your EVO to the track in style". I would take a Ralliart Eclipse just as well!

oh man, the GS-T and GSX is back!!! ive been waiting since 99 for this!!! Now if they actually made it...that would be nice...and maybe shave off some of that 3500+ lbs that the new eclipse is carrying (if anna nicole or christie ally can do it then there is hope)... somehow i dont think all my wishes will come tru

Sorry to bring this back, sorta. Any new info on this? I just saw the eclipse concept in a new magazine, so I decided to search here, and waddya know? Y'all already knew about it quite a while ago.

Anyway, what's new? Any idea if this will be produced? I would love to see this come out! Super Hot! Although I'm sure you wouldn't get half the stuff as the concept, but still. 4g63 awd, recaros etc!
