Drove an 05 545i.......

So my sisters boyfriend is down and just brought his new beamer with a 4.4 or 4.8 v8 I dunno something like 350hp. But first I let him drive the Evo and he liked it alot. (He's never heard of the evo before..wtf? So I showed him the AMS evo racing KB's and Blown Vettes)

So anyways back to the beamer. Never In my 19 years on this planet have I shifted a more rock solid smoothe car then this my friends. I cant describe the difference in our evo's besides how are clutch can be felt and grabs hard where the beamer is feather like(almost fake, which is why I love ours) and the gears click into the 6 speed gear box.

For a fully loaded luxurious car is pulled pretty well. But minus the weight from all the bull crap It could be fast, but no one buys a BMW for that reason.

Since its rated at 350hp what would it dyno at the wheels...

Could I take him from a 45-50mph roll in 3rd gear?
(no question who would win from a dig..)

Just like to point out the last two numbers in a BMW car's name is its displacement... 540i=4.0 liters.... 328i=2.8 liters.

Are you asking how your Evo would do in a street race vs this car?

Not necessarily...325, 525=3.0L...550, 650, 750=4.8L...545, 645, 745=4.4L

Common misconception. They try to get close though...

was it the newer body style? if so, then it may have been the 550i, with 360hp, the fake clutch feel probably came from the CDV, which makes the car drive smoother, but wears the clutch faster, and waht do you mean people dont buy these cars for speed, havn't you heard of the m3?

Not only that but bench racing is stupid. Just go find out and don't post about it.

people def. buy those cars for speed just like we do. imagine cruising a german highway at 120.... then youll get the idea of why they build them

New 330= 3.0 liter, 3 stage intake
New 325= exact same 3.0 liter engine, single stage intake

I drove one 2 weeks ago and have been reading up on them. The electric water pump is pretty cool.
