What was the build cost (not including the car) to make the STI get into the 9's?

50 gs would not surprise me but I am sure it was a Grip. Sponsorships help endure the cost and IMO would be the only way a guy could make a nine sec STI w/o going bankrupt. Nine sec Evos arn't cheap either but gettin them into the high 10 to mid- low 11s is doable with 10 gs or less.

you are pretty much clueless when it comes to subarus so forgive me if i take your "IMO" with a grain of salt.

really? you can get an ems, fuel upgrades, clutch, full turbo back exhaust, upgraded internals, cams, bigger fmic, etc for under $10K for a 10sec car???

an AMS gt35r turbo kit alone already costs over $4,400. half your budget is already out the window.

Yes people, thats the winner of the recent event at Etown EVO vs WRX.

On street tires they ran 10.2 @140 mph

Congrats to Gadiel, BigValley, Georgie, Jorge and the super driver Roly the mean machine.

Ya era hora gordito!
Felicidades Gadiel!
I still congratulate him but he won because Al's car had a mechanical failure. At the WRX/Evo event Gadiel was still a 10 sec while there was many other EvO 8 cars already in the 9's(Turbotrix, Dynoflash, AMS)

Anyway, yes indeed congrats but it is about damn time a STI with a damn stroker kit start making some decent times, it has always been a embarassing event for the STI in the past.
