A) I do. The Sledgehammer Corvette hit 255mph about 15 years ago - I see no reason why the Venom couldn't do the same.

B) No car is safe at 225+. It's totally for bragging rights.

The Venom is 3500lbs. The Veyron is 4500 lbs. I'll take the lighter car on the track all day long.

Bugatti even said the Veyron wasn't designed for racing. The Veyron would likely get whacked by the Venon on the track. Wheels magazine ran 7:40 in a Veyron at the 'Ring......a stock Z06 ran 7:42.

 

On a track, no doubt the Venom is faster - heck, a stock Viper is probably faster on most tracks (i.e. not the Nurburgring). But straight line top speed is not influenced by weight.

 

anyways...VIPER FTW. bugatti is just a sex symbol of cars. The thing is ugly tho. WHen i first laid eyes on a bugatti i almost puked. The thing is ugly. When i first laid on a venom1000 i was in shock at how beautiful that car is

 

Viper will own it. I hate that little snout the Bugatti has on its nose. Reminds me of the 06-07 STi.

Stopping from 250mph is another problem..

One of the reasons the Veyron was delayed so long was trying to make it safely stop from those speeds.

Read the OP. He asked to compare the cars based on performance not which one is you little dream car. If I had 2 million to blow, I'd get the Viper. Why? It looks drop dead sexy. The Veyron is ugly.

 

Yeah, he said this.. Although he wasn't asking which one you'de rather have, if you read the thread, most people gave an opinion on which one they would rather own... I commented on what the OP asked, and the direction the thread took.

Answering the question, I think the Viper will always be a Viper, and shouldn't be compared to the Veyron. Doesn't matter how much boost you throw at it, it's still a piece of sh*t.

Then I said, comparing top speed, like the OP asked, stopping from 250mph in a car that was never designed to go past 200mph wouldn't be safe.

If I missed the part where he said compare the performance, please point it out.

How can anyone compare these cars performance wise? I dont think anyone on EvoM has driven either of them, and definatly not both of them to compare.

By the way, the Veyron isn't my "little dream car" My "little dream car" is a Porsche Gemballa Mirage GT.

 

even if i had the $, veyron wouldnt be on my purchase list. i have to enjoy looking at my cars. i cant enjoy lookin at a veyron the thing is ugly. Fast and comfortable, and as much engineering put forth into the car, i will without a doubt respect it and still am amazed of it, but not my taste. Lingenfelter TT Vette or Venom1000 FTW!

Don't confuse your opinion with the facts. Just because a Viper doesn't cost 1.5 million certainly doesn't make it a "piece of sh*t". There are plenty of people that love Vipers regardless of how much they cost.

^^^ ..exactly. Until someone puts these 2 cars up against each other in a huge long drag race down the autobahn, its simply bench racing. The viper's engine bay is so large i can prob sleep in there
