Charger SRT-8 runs 11's stock?

Did anybody take a look at the latest issue of Speed? You know, the spinoff specialty magazine of Road and Track. Anyway there is an article in there pitting the Dodge Charger SRT-8 against the Evo 9 MR. They have the Evo down as 0-60 of 4.7 and 1/4 at 12.9. I think to myself that's right. Now the Charger they had 0-60 of 4.9, impressive for a 2 ton car, but believable considering the powerplant. Then I saw the 1/4 mile time...11.5 seconds?!?! I thought WHOA! I was thinking typo, but they have the time down twice, in the article itself and the comparison chart. Now how can a 2 ton car run 11's on just 425hp? Unless it is severely underrated like the old Hemi. But even that didn't go that fast. Also considering the price of the car, that is what I call bang for the buck! If that time is true, then I am getting one.

Misprint.

Did you see what the 500hp Z06 did in the 1/4mi?

My guess is that they meant 12.5 do to the EVO running 12.7. Pretty good stock times for both cars.

Sounds like a misprint. But I will say I like how the black Charger SRT looks.

Coming from owning more than 5 real Charger's(68 & 69) I must say the thing is hideous and a poor attempt to bring back some history. 11.5 is also a misprint.

I was not kidding on my statements, I don't know if you are being for real or being sarcastic. I took my Golf GTI to the track last month and ran 15.7 but there were PONTIAC GTO's running mids 15 and also a Dodge Hemi SRT 340hp running 15.1.

I have seen one single STI in my life at SIR bellow 14, in fact it was a 13.9. I have seen multiple WRX doing 16.4@84 stock with the Auto tranny and most of them running high 15's to high 14 's with basic mods.

I am really not kidding about the SRT-8 running at best mid to high 13's in AZ

Check out Feb. 2006 Car and Driver

They have a concept CHALLENGER that is down right mean looking.

This is the way these reto cars need to look.

Now Chevy needs to do a '67-69 Camaro with all the techno of present day cars!!!!!!

But really the Challenger is done right.
