IS350 0-60 in 4.79 seconds

http://www.sjdsm.com/tech/0_60_calc.htm

I used this calculator to figure my 0-60 time and it said that base on an 1/8 mile time of 8.85 and an 1/8 mile mph of 81.57 then my 0-60 is 4.79. Not too shabby huh? I thought that the IS350 was supposed to be around 5.3. I wonder how accurate that calculator is.

It is just an estimate. some lightly modded evos get 3.7 sec with that calculator. Also 0-60 means nothing. you can have slower 0-60 and still faster. measuring the distance vs time is the right way to measure the performance of the car... like 1/8th mile time.

I don't think that it is that impossible for a light modded evo to get a 3.7 0-60. I also disagree that 0-60 means nothing as it seems most automotive publications use this as a baromoter to measure all new cars real world acceleration even more so than a quarter mile time.

However, I am curious to find out what a stock evos 0-60 would be using a time slip and that calculator and I wonder how close it will be to the 4.7 that was advertised.

If the calculator is wrong, but consistently wrong, then since my time is about 5-6 tenths faster than advertised, an evo should be about 4.1-4.2. If the calculator represents a time close to what is advertised for the evo, then the IS350 is a little more of a beast then people realize and that is what I am trying to find out.

Actually , your numbers sounds and look absolutely perfect to me, everything matches on my book. Could you tell us what was your 60' times?

Thanks!!

Car & Driver did a 13.9 @ 102.9mph with the IS350. They were comparing the new C350 (I think) and also the 330i.

2.11 60'. If that is an accurate 0-60 then I am amazed that there would be that much of a difference between what magazines published and what my car ran. Maybe I got one of those fabled Wednesday cars.

That is interesting. They trapped 2.2 mph higher than me, that means they were making more power. My 60' wasn't that great either, so I wonder why the big difference in times.

it is definitely nice....but the paddle shifter is so bad it's just not something I could ever own....that's why I had to settle for the IS250.

I don't think it's accurate, because my stock time also calculates to 4.72 - 8.4@80mph. With an AWD launch, I would have gotten to 60mph way faster than you. You would make up your time from 60-80mph after getting full traction.

Also, I don't believe my current 7.6@91mph is really a 3.3 0-60 in an Evo w/o cams.
