Disclaimer: this video was professionally done by MotorTrend on a 3 mile runway on a naval base; it is not street racing in any form.

That thing freaking moves to 120mph. You'll be dropping 15k in the EVO to touch that.

Cool link. I came across a modded c6z06 a short while ago, and lets just say that I felt like I was driving my wife's Prius. It was incredible...

You're missing the following:

600 cams, 1k for exhaust, guages, misc, 800 for tax, and then whatever install and tuning will be...which most people will do...you'll be looking at 15K+.

If you did all the install work and tuning yourself you could squeak by for 13K or so and run better times on race gas, but on pump you would still get owned.

Stupid argument.......try to sell your 80K EVO and see what you will get for it? The Z will hold it's value much better. It wil still get spanked royally on pump gas, so what will you do drive around with C16 all day? LG motorsports is taking one of their cars to the track shortly dynoed at 713whp on pump shoud trap close to 140 all on pump gas and still run awesome at the autox, roadcourse, and cross country they just won't use the sauce.

I can't understand how some you can sit here and try to say the EVO or any other small displacement engined car can keep up when comparing the total package. It doesn't make sense in my mind.....CPE just dynoed a Viper at 1389rwhp at 19psi!! The Z06 ran the fastest lap time at Nurburgring for any production based car under 250K. Look at OnelapofAmerica and all the winners how many 2.0's do you see in the top 5? A EVO can't even compete in the standing mile because even geared with a drag gears it won't be running over 200mph especially on 100 octane. The viper ran 217mph in the mile and all cars had all of their amenities. While all of these high hp EVO's have no A/C except for Dan's....Buschur, AMS, Al's, Chris's all have no A/C.

In the end it's just physics and displacment wins!

I thought that a normal GSR based around $32 and the Z06 is $65, but nevermind. You guys can take the modded Evo, I will take my fully warrantied Z06 and live without worries.

Oh, and Jasil, I was just about to begin an argument that ran hand in hand with yours, but it was not even worth the typing involved.....

Well said, as much as you guys hate to admit the evo is not a car setup purely for speed.

Yes i would still take the Z06, my earlier comments were just into response to the idea of it would take 15k to make and evo move like that, so i just took off on that a lil

The big problem we run into on the top end is aerodynamics. The vette has a way lower Cd.
