I mean what cars lead you in the direction of the EVO. Well, for those outside the US you could just buy an evo I - VII. No I'm asking the US guys what car did you settle for since you couldn't get your hands on an earlier EVO?

The Evo was a combination of two things that I always like on cars: Turbo and AWD.
When I first had my Renault 5s GT II turbos and other FWD turbo cars I was always getting pissed that much lesser cars would beat me off the line. I then started to get turbo cars with AWD's so I got Eclipses , Stealths, WRX being the WRX the biggest POS I ever driven or wasted(trashed) money into. The Evo came into the country when I already had the WRX. The Evo cured all the aspects that the WRX failed to perform.
I have strong future plans to sell my Evo 8 MR and get a Evo X when available however I wouldn't be the first one to get it since the Evo X must prove itself on the road.

I had a bmw 330xi before the evo, and living in minnesota i wanted awd, the bmw was great, it was nice. Then the evo came along and I realized that I can drive this car all year round, and still go fast. Thats where I came from.
