Know what a 450 hp Supra and a 1000 hp Supra have in common?

No, I didn't misquote. It seems Supras are always running in the 12s, regardless of what they have done to'em.

The new Supra was completely redesigned, with rounded body styling partly based on the Ferrari F40 and featured two new engines: naturally aspirated 2JZ-GE 220 hp (164 kW) and 210 ft·lbf (285 N·m) of torque and a twin turbocharged 2JZ-GTE making 320 hp (239 kW), 315 ft·lbf (427 N·m) of torque. The turbocharged variant could achieve 0–60 mph in 4.6 seconds and 1/4 mile (402 m) in 13.1 seconds at 109 mph [2]. The stock turbos are capable of running around 450-500 bhp with an unrestricted airflow/exhaust system and an aftermarket boost controller (BPU Upgrade).

The supras are running over 1000hp at the crank stock block. I dont think the LS1s are that powerful. There are plenty of supras under 1000whp breaking 9s so I dont know what you're talking about. 12s? are u kidding me. The car STOCK can hit low 13s, 12s possibly. So you're telling me a 320hp stock supra TT can run almost simliar times as a 1000whp Supra. at you!!!
FWIW, I've seen plenty Supras run the 1/4. And yes, I've even seen a fair share of STOCK ones at the track. I have NEVER seen a BONE STOCK Supra run faster than a 13.7 @ 104 mph. Please, SHOW ME slips of these cars running low 13s and high 12s bone stock.
Actually, I'm the one laughing at YOU. Everybody and anybody that knows ANYTHING about cars KNOW that Supras aren't prime candidates for the drag strip because of their independent rear suspensions. It doesn't take a genius.

big powered supra's aren't made for the strip IMHO....
they're made for the freeway. and they are F***ING INSANE on the freeway when they're done right. lose traction at 100mph but basically at that point anything under 100mph is useless...they'll just spin and spin...maybe a civic can keep up
to the OP: sounds like a killer deal. auto or not just get it first...do a manual swap later lol
