What do you guys think of Saleens?
I had a 95 GT convertable that was a POS with a leaky tranny, crappy paint, and a/c that kept braking. I vowed I would never own an American car again. Are the Saleens made that much better. I was thinking 99-03. Trying to stay under $30k. Is it just a glorified "stoner" car or are they the real deal?
thanks

i had a 95 gt convertable, ford trannys are crap, especially the autos. saleen mustangs are just mustangs with saleen parts. only car saleen produces is the s7 and those are custom made to the person ordering.

I had a 2000 s281-sc before the evo and would not go back on my decision to get rid of it. They look sick and they are very fast, but it was build like sh**.

I think the Saleen Mustangs are very visually attractive automobiles, and some of them are as fast as *****, but I can't justify their huge asking price. For the cost of a Saleen-tuned car, you could out-perform one for a fraction of their asking price. I believe you're paying for the "Saleen" name.

I also think they look very nice but wouldn't own one. 2 weeks ago, I outran my friends 02' Saleen. His car has 515whp and mine 390whp. We started at about a 10mph roll and I literally destroyed him. When comparing the money spent to reach those numbers, He has 15K on top of the price of the car and I only have around 4K in mine.
