dinan anyone?
So my good buddy and his dad went out to cali this past week to take their first ride in there newly modded 01 m5. They sent it out to dinan to get the s3 supercharger package installed. Go to the bottom of the page and look at the s3 to see what is included in it. http://www.dinancars.com/Series.asp?...is=13&Model=57
Bottom line...
Peak Horsepower: 621 @ 7000 rpm
Peak Horsepower Gain: 230 @ 7000 rpm
Peak Torque: 502 lb/ft @ 5500 rpm
Peak Torque Gain: 173 lb/ft @ 7000 pm
A rep from the shop took them out on public roads for the test drive. To show how insane the car is he pushed the car all the way up to 180mph, throwing them back in there now **** stained seats. My buddy told me that the acceleration was smoother than anything he has ever felt including their 06 m5 and 06 Cayanne turbo. They just got it back here in Ohio and are still getting used to the fury.
I will post pics up and my reactions after I get to go see it and take a ride.

One of the guys i was stationed with had a 95 m3 that had a dinan supercharger on it. Hell of a car, espessialy after he had the engine built, it was even better! The only downfall is the price. But if u have the money, More power to you!

your buddys pops must have a lotta dough... im looking at the prices... the stage2 is a $29k upgrade... so the stage3 must be in the low $30k range... thats a lot of money.. i dont think its worth it imo..

I worked out of their shop for a short time at the beginning of last year. I was truely impressed with their work. Yes, they are expensive. If you had seen the data acquisition with four different pressure sensors mounted in the exhaust of a new Bmw just for development of an exhaust system, you would understand were the price comes from. As far as the "short time" goes here is what we got accomplished. Steve Dinan was hired as our engineer on a World Challenge team. These cars had already been sorted out by the previous owners. He managed to take one and a half seconds off of our lap times in one month. However, he wanted to start from the ground up and engineer the whole car. This is the right way to due it. Also the expensive way and would have taken half a season. The cost just wasn't in the budget. Dinan puts all their efforts into their street car development programs. They had a Volvo engine in there for At Speed(Gerard, the guy behind Vishnus Ohlin shocks) that they never got around to developing. Bottom line is if I had a Bmw street car and coulod afford to I'd take it to them to build.
