Cool video about the History of AWD!!
This is a very cool video about the history of AWD. It will show you the Audi origins in rally to the road courses, and how it was so dominant that AWD is now banned from most racing circuits due to an unfair advantage.

Great video. About 25% of the content was unknown to me though.
I must take the moment to add a few comments, this video was all about Audi but they left many many other European "big dogs" out.
Not a single time they mention other sucessfull cars such the Paris -Dakar winner in 1986 Porsche 959.
They do not mention the 5 time world rally champion Lancia Delta Intregrale (worldchampion from 1988-1989-1990-1991-1992)
They don't mention nothing about the Peugeot and their wins on Paris -dakar with their Peugeot 205 T1-6 AWD or theiur Peugeot 405 MI-16
They also don't mention the Renault 21 Turbo quadra(AWD) which whoopp Audis a$$ on the GT gran turismo championship class in Europe(it first year debut in 1988)
As per the video of Pikes peak, what a shame, what the hell happen with the worlds record of Ari Vattanen with his Peugeot 205 T-16? I guess the Audi video is prepared to show prior to Ari Vattanen Peugeot 205 T 16 superior post record.
What about the Ford Sierra Cosworths? and how about the Ford escort Cosworths? Ford RS 2000? Lancia ECV with 600hp hatchback? they don't talk about them uhhh?
Last but not least, as far is the Audi shown on the late 80 with the wide body kit I actually saw a race the summer of 1989 in San Antonio downtown, very cool sound coming from their BOV.
This AWD video was mostlikely fully sponsored by Audi. This video was their way to say: Hey look how bad *** we are.
For a European like me I think otherwise, Audi is just another one from the already very competitive European market.
If Audi was soo bad a$$ what happened between 1988-1992? how come Lancia took 5 consecutive years wins? Where is Audi now? exactly.....
so much innovation but the reality is that the European-japanese competition is just crushing.

Yeah, those spectators are absolutely crazy!!!
Check out this one. Great Crash Video!! One of the scenes has a rally car taking out a group of spectators. This is the BEST crash video I've found so far. It really helps you gain a respect for what these cars can do. It's pretty scary to think about.
