[QUOTE=bdking57;4087007]The traction and gearing gives you an advantage.. from a roll its no contest...while the automatic shows lower dyno numbers, on the drag strip it tends to be faster.

Are you sure it doesnt have headers? If thats the case he is likely close to 400whp after a good tune with a few other supporting mods.

12.41 @ 115.40 - Icebourg - 05 Z51 M6 - CAI, catback

These numbers seem to be right on for a C6 with some bolt ons and a tune.

I don't know who told you that these bolt ons would give the C6 500whp but that is not going to happen with these mods. Cams and headers would get you more but you would still be short of 500whp. I think it would take FI or a 100shot to get you there on a C6.

i like how a dude trapped 1.5MPH less with bolt-ons on that list then on his stock run. Must have been a bit warmer out.

The C6 ECU pulls timing aggressively when heatsoaked and it doesnt take much.. 106 is the lowest trap I have ever hear of on a c6.

There brand new very cheap mod plan to get close to 500whp NA very easily now with the C6. LT headers, Cam, Cai, L92 heads, L76 intake.. with all the other proper support and tuning the setup will make very near 500whp on 91 octane. Also APS just announced their turbo kit price drop to $7000 which makes around 600whp on 91 at only 5psi (imagine what a meth tune would do)

One thing to consider is that evo tuning is far more advanced.. none of these guys are drag racing on 100octane, take a look at the evo boards and try to find someone whos not drag racing on 100octane.. It would be nice to have a real 11 second street car on **** gas.

If your talking about this c6 in particular being that its an auto.. well your correct..but why would anyone take an auto or a non z51 package C6 to the track.. Thats a euro evo IX with all the high end goodies that we dont have here in the USA and its still much slower. Top gear also tested their base c6 as 2 seconds faster then the euro evo. My buddy just traded his mustang in for a new vette today.. auto, non z51.. blah, but his wife cant drive stick. I would never drive an auto vette over an evo.

Any competent driver in a stock Vette with the Z51 package should be able to teach an equally competent driver in an Evo how to drive around a track, and thats even if the evo has some suspension bits

Too bad this ones is an auto.. it would also be nice if the m6 vette had some sort of launch control.. its like you cannot get the best of both worlds between the auto and the manual.
