Renault Megane Cabriolet...

The Pugeot was much faster but the Renault much prettier

+1, it would be WAY easier and WAY cheaper to just fly to Mexico and drive it across the border... Maybe then fly home from SoCal and have the car shipped home for a measly $900; if you don't want to road trip...

Alright, now this is just weird; because we have the exact same taste in cars... The Clio and 206 have always been super cars in my mind. Just look at that f*@#ing thing!

^lol i know. it love those small sporty hatchbacks. I really wish i had the money to get them. From the looks of things i won't be able to afford this for a long time.

Maybe in a few years i will import one for a project car

An old t16 would be sweet too. It cost me to import my mini about 1300 bucks, but that was through my work at the time. too bad the old shop closed down I could have imported it for you.

So the cost of the actual car is nothing, it's getting here that is gonna be the problem.

This will most likely be a VERY long term project. I'm in no hurry, and i'm betting this will take many years, but i wanna do it.
Although my fiancee just gave me a massive lecture on how i need to be responsible and i don't need to waste my time on stuff like this, unless i win the lottery.
Well if you win the lottery, replace the gf with a more tolerant one
:-) Im sure there will be many offers !!!!

BTW I hope the project turns out well, I love those cars !!

You cannot make it street legal without NHTSA approval.

http://www.nhtsa.dot.gov/cars/rules/...lig010807b.htm

The only Peugeot on the list is a 1989 Peugeot 405.

For track use you have to declare it prior to importing, and the car will NEVER be able to be registered. And yes, that will be EXCEPTIONALLY expensive to turn a 206 into an AWD, turbocharged WRC car knock-off.
