I agree. My 518whp EK hatch has gone 10.97 in the quarter mile and is a great drag car. Unfortunately, it is not a fun street car (the Evo takes that title). My EK is usually used for highway racing against bikes whereas the Evo is used to put a smile on my face during daily commute. Here are some of my EK's specs:

BLOCK
2.0L LS-VTEC motor built by Randy at Attitude Racing
B18b Golden Eagle Sleeved and bored to 84mm
9:1 JE pistons and rings
Eagle connecting rods

RC 720 cc injectors

GSR Quaife

HEAD
B16 Vtec Head
Skunk II titanium springs and retainers
ENDYN Stainless steel valves

GSR Cams

TURBO
T3/T4 hybrid 67
Compressor Specifications:
-T04R 67mm compressor wheel with a max flow rate of 75 lb/min
-0.70AR T04S compressor housing
-Good to 700 whp.
Turbine Specifications:
-P trim turbine wheel
-0.63 or 0.82 A/R. turbine housing available
-4 bolt standard turbine discharge
CHRA Specifications:
-360 degree thrust bearing standard
-Oil cooled & lubricated center section

To be honest, the EVo is a lot more fun to drive......The honda has too much torque steer during the onset of boost, major traction issues even with a tuned suspension, attracts to much negative attention due to "Honda-driver stereotyping", but it is really cheap to maintain and modify compared to an Evo. I think you will be happier upgrading your EVo as it is a better platform to work with.....just more expensive.

+1. Thieves are all over hondas these days. On a local forum for Miami, they're always new posts of hondas getting stlolen.

I just kinda glanced over this thread, but IF you could, try and do a K20 swap.

K20's in the EK or EG platform is killer. K20 is the best 4cyl ever, so far, IMO. So much so, that I'm seriously thinking about picking up a new Si.

Other than that, if you wanna go fast in a straight line, and smoke just about anything from a roll, go for it. I had a big hp FWD Honda, and it was fun, but I got sick of trying to put the power down through the front wheels.
