This past weekend my friend with his 335i and me with the IX raced from a 2nd gear roll to about 100mph and ended up even. I thought he might take me but we have to go past 100 to see if he can beat me, we ran out of room since it wasn't highway run. Both cars are stock. Not bad for a stock IX.

Aricthmetic,
I honestly don't think 3000ways is jelaous or nothing like that. I wouldn't see why he wouldn't agree that the BMW 335i is a nice car for the price.
I am sure 3000 ways does not hate anyone for having one, I am sure he wouldn't mind having one on his garage so in response to your comment I never thought he was a hater for that reason. He is just speaking out.

Carlos,
Again, the car with the driver and a FULL TANK weighs 3,850lbs, not 4,000. Also, you keep omitting the fact that this 335 was using fat DRs. Everyone knows the huge difference that this type of tire makes on powerful RWD cars at the track. 335s usually run 60 ft. in 2.0-2.2 secs. This guy did it in 1.69, better than most Evos. On top of that, it was achieved at Englishtown, perhaps the fastest track in the nation.
And let's not forget that 12.57 @ 108 mph is the fastest time ever recorded on a modded 335i. About 90% of 335s with the Procede kit are in the low-mid 13's at 106mph.
But oh well, this is just human nature. We all tend to be biased towards our rides, and since you sold your Evos and bought a 335...

I have to get back to you on the 60' times. You are somehow right, the drs help greatly but I have seen people doing 1.8s on the stockers.
The weight issue is another thing to check. I might send a message to the driver of that 335i that ran the 12.5 and ask him personally but I have a tendency and inclination to think that the weight numbers I gave are correct due to the simple fact that I am one of the few guys that actually meticulously weights my cars at the track then compare the weight with other manufacturers.
Just a clear example was my Dodge Stealth R/T TT. It weighted 3752lbs with no spare tire and almost no gas. According to the website the Stealth was 3797lbs(with spare tire and floormats) so what about the 19.8 galons of gas?
19.8x3.78=74.4 kilos which is 165lbs. oooppps! now what? should we add those 165lbs? you see what I mean Sergio?
http://www.edmunds.com/used/1994/dod...055/specs.html
why do I mention the weight soo much?, because I have the right to say so because I do unlike many people weight the cars at the official weight calibrated stations and I am not a second guesser. That is all.
We are still dealing with the fact that it was a 330whp(dynojet) on a 3900lbs ish full weight car without rear LSD.

According to you, a 335 weighs about 3,735 lbs without a driver and 4,000 lbs. with a driver: in this case, the driver weighs 265lbs., therefore the vehicle weighs the remaining 3,735 right? Well, according to BMW USA, the 335 Coupe weighs 3,571 lbs. with a FULL TANK OF GAS: http://www.bmwusa.com/NR/rdonlyres/1...e_10192006.pdf
Please check the definition of CURB WEIGHT which is applied by the auto industry as a standard:
Curb (kerb) weight is the total weight of a vehicle with standard equipment, all necessary operating consumables (such as motor oil and coolant), a full tank of fuel and not loaded with either passengers or cargo. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Curb_weight
But hey, if you still think that a rwd 4,000lb. car with only 330whp can cover the quarter in 12.5, then be my guest.

Remember that torque plays also an important rol on moving a car faster, and the 335 excels on that area.

Sergio,
Good info on the weight, it definately defines the difference between" leyend and reality". Just as you might spent $1300 on a BMW on upgrading the software and gaining 100whp/126lb/tq you could also wait for the 08 Z06 with the vortech package which cost $7000(without installation) and it looses 1 tenth of a second from 0-60mph, and overall gets you 2 tenth quicker in the 1/4 mile.
Talking about proving..
http://www.motortrend.com/features/p..._corvette_z06/
There is no perfect car out there, everything has a flaw. Since people insist that the BMW is proving nothing other than spining the dyno rollers with inflated numbers I figure I use the C6 vette example since it made similar gains with a budget 5 times greater .
Let me get this right, you can go and spend over $8000 in a Z06 vortech kit which gives you 130hp (engine) and 75lb/tq(engine)or you can go and spend $1300 which gains nearly the same horsepower and get nearly twice the torque gains for 1/5 of the money on a BMW 335i. Maybe I am the one high on crack-cocaine right? and there are still people telling me that BMW only proves numbers in the rollers?, not only proves numbers in the rollers but they can also do that at a fraction.
Sure, we can pick on any other car right? Any BMW 335i owner should be happy about being able to achieve such gains for such price package deal.
Gentleman, spend your time critizising other cars, I heard nothing but complaints. My future posts will be focused in underachiever cars that you have to spend thousands of dollars to make similar power, I would like to see your responses.

Carlitos, se te ve el plumero!
You never tell the whole story. This is from the same link you provided:
At the end of the quarter mile, the Vortech Z06 runs just a few tenths quicker than a stock Z06 (due to wild tirespin), but delivers a nearly 10 mph more trap speed (a more accurate indicator of the power increase). With stickier tires, a Vortech-blown Z06 should run in the 10s. Rejoice knowing a Vortech Z06, even with copious tirespin, will still go 0 to 100 to 0 mph in a scant 11.7 seconds. Take that, Mr. 8.4-liter Viper.
About the 335, it wasn't my intention to criticize it. I was only talking raw track numbers. I do think that the PROcede is hands down the most worthy performance upgrade nowadays: 100whp 120 tq for just $1,300. Wow. Can't get any better than that. I just want to see these terrific numbers translating to the track, and at 380whp and 400lb.tq, high 11's/low 12's @ 116-117+mph shouldn't be a problem.

He's car is a 07 335i coupe, six speed , sport suspension package and he's a really good driver, drives formula Atlantic indy type cars. He was really surprised that the we were neck in neck.

This improvement I hope to see it in the form of better drivers, more drivers taking their BMW to the track, new software and perhaps someone slaping a raer LSD.
That was just on the 335i department, I have all my money put on the new AWD 335i and the upcoming 135i (Twin turbo). If they ever release a AWD 135 Twin turbo you can then say that the Evo has a serious competitor on the 1/4 mile.

Using 3600lbs and 380whp, I'd guess it'd be close to 112mph give or take a couple. But not 116! Well, maybe if it's really cold and a 20mph tail wind.
