ok so how about the IS300?

Last night I couldn't fall asleep because I was thinking of what car i should get, I wanted to get an Evo but insurance is jsut too high so I will wait it out until I am somewhat older. But the IS300 seems to be a very good canidate. My parents have Toyotas and so i will be used to it because of it being a Toyota. It also has an inline 6 and I am only getting manual, looking onlinend I can see a few good ones for 18k, 03's. how are they with inurance companies by the way, because thats the reason I am not getting an Evo.

I remember seeing that car on the list for top 10 highest insurance rate vehicles. Its a solid car but the age demographic of owners is still pretty young. It was ranked like 6th while the Evo was 1st and STi 2nd or so. They are solid cars still.

I doubt you can tune it to 300 without forced induction. You are SOL when it comes to tuner cars and insurance rates. Don't know what to tell you sir.

what about like an a4 2.0t? not bad insurance, very nice interior + you can easily get 300 out of it (chip, exhaust w/ x-pipe, intake, etc...) if all you want is 300 there are a lot of options, plus throw on a set of coilovers and your good to go... just an example. you might find that your more happy with a more realistic car if all your looking for is 300 hp. GTI, Jetta, 3 Series, G35's, etc... Good luck!

Judging youre concerned about pocket spending on insurance and wahtnot...think about maintenance on cars such as the A4...easy to make fast, expensive as hell to fix if someothing goes wrong. My boss had a suspension modded/bolt on IS300
w/120k on the clock. He loved that car to death because it never ever gave him a single issue. he autoXed it as well. Toyota reliability is top notch which is why i want a Lexus as well. Not quite sure what youre exactly after, but a Lexus is more of a nice DD with luxury and reliability, and its cheap.(getting 1 for my gf in the near future). Someone mentioning an RSX and Spec V in the same thread is kind of ridiculous. More like RSX and spec V=FAIL...depending on what youre after. I would never buy an rsx or spec V (rsx-S MIGHT be an exception). My buddy had a 05 spec V..my GOODNESS that thing had more problems than mercedes.

All in all, IS300 is def a great buy unless youre trying to go really fast. For a DD, its perfect and its cheap to buy/maintain. I vote for IS300. As for insurance i dont know why..but out of all the quotes i got from insurance co's, the evo was the CHEAPEST...comparing it to IS350, IS250, 04 z06, 04 GTO. I pay 95.xx a month for my evo and im 21 w/3 previous speeding tickets, 2 no seatbelts, and a few other ones. But within the past 3-4 years, i 've had nothing

Why not get a regular impreza that is AWD, and later on just save up and swap in a EJ engine series engine.(sti engine) I'm sure It will be dirt cheap to Insure.

My Evo insurance is $80 a month through Progressive and I have 4 tickets over the past 3 years on my record. Maybe you should shop around on your insurance a lil more.
