Vishnu Procede squeezed some 75whp/114lb/tq on a older version of software, there are 4 upgrades to that software and the power is now 100whp increase with just his software(Vishnu Procede V 2.0 version)

Cat backs are making 12-15whp.

We can sit here and try to find answers but you can't ingnore the facts, the N54 is making mega power. This engine was marveleously engineered, it won the best engine in the world award by on of the top leading magazines.

Also, don't forget that this engine is already under rated from factory and it reallu puts 330-340hp to the cranck. With a few simple bolt ons this car is now in the 500hp crank range, just like that!

Note: ( I can provide again all the appropiate links to support all my statements above )

BMW has in the past had more restrictive exhausts on the smaller cars. Look at the Z3 coupe. It didn't share the same 240 & 333 hp ratings the other larger BMW cars had.

the 335i has:

4 cats
2 mufflers
1 rear silencer

Plus one muffler (rear left) has a electric bypass valve that closes temporarily, that is a whole lot of restriction on a turbo car.

mmm...people expect the 135i to be faster than the 335 but I have serious doubts. Weight savings will be minimal and the exhaust system will definitely be more restrictive.

I'm looking forward to moving to the 135i in the Spring when they're out. I just wish they jump into the hatchback market over here with it.

Its going to be close. Either way, I would bet on the 135i because it will definitely be somewhat lighter than the 335i, but hey, ya never know.

Yesterday I saw a 2-door 120d coupe on the autobahn and I thought that it was one of the worst looking cars that I've seen in a long time. The hatchback looks better IMO.

The coupe isn't even on my radar, but if they offered the hatchback, I'd throw down a deposit today, no question.

I never understood the whole hatchback thing. I think they are the ugliest cars Ive ever seen in my life. Im sure many would agree. Im not crazy about the looks of the 135i coupe. I like it, but not crazy about it. But, you couldnt pay me to drive a hatchback.

I'm exactly the opposite, and it's not so much hatchbacks as it is longer wagon types.

The idea of a fast, agile wagon, or shooting brake is my idea of the ultimate vehicle.

If given the choice, I'd always choose the wagon variant, like with the E55/63, M5, Evo, etc.

In a country like America where the idea of "cool" is a sleek coupe, having a wagon with the same amount of performance is just the ultimate statement of telling every image-conscious ladyboy to go fuck themselves.

Substance over style.

The idea of "cool" is whatever YOU want it to be. If you think a hatchback is cool, so be it. I happen to like coupes/sedans, not hatchbacks. If they came out with a coupe and a hatchback and they both ran the same times, handled the same, etc, I dont see the purpose of getting the hatchback unless you liked the styling better. Personally, I like the coupe styling better, so I would choose that.

The hatchback would be infinitely more practical at that point. In the 1-series case, the ability to hold cargo in the hatch AND have 4-doors makes getting the coupe seem pointless.
